Double Wins for Coan Brothers at 2011 Baseline League Champs
Posted on May 10th, 2011TCC freshman Kyle Coan smashed the 200 freestyle Baseline League record by over 3 seconds, with a sizzling 1:39.95, at the 2011 Baseline League Championships. Kyle was also crowned league champion in the 100 fly (51.91), setting a new pool record. Brother Kevin was victorious in both the 100 free (48.05) and the 100 back (53.40), also setting new pool records in both events. The Coan family finished the day with sister Rebecca winning the 100 butterfly in a new pool record of 57.05. Rebecca placed 2nd in the 200 I.M. with a lifetime best of 2:08.26 as well. Laureano Ortiz finished his high school career with two league titles in the 200 I.M. (1:57.70, pool record) and the 100 breast (1:01.10).
